Tota-Maharaj, Asha, MBBS, FACP
Dr. Tota-Maharaj earned her medical degree at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, and then completed her internal medicine residency at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. When seeing patients, she focuses on treating each individual and providing excellent bedside manner and patient communication.
Dr. Tota-Maharaj has a passion for teaching and academia, and previously served as assistant clinical professor of medicine at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University in North Haven, Connecticut, and as clinical instructor in primary care at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. She has won numerous awards for academic excellence in primary care medicine and patient safety.
Outside of work, Dr. Tota-Maharaj enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and travelling.
