Kumbkarni, Anjum, MD,
After finishing medical school, Dr. Kumbkarni completed her residency training at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She has special interests in the prevention and treatment of medical conditions including hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity and autoimmune conditions. Using an integrative approach, she is able to reduce the amount and duration of patients’ medications.
Dr. Kumbkarni also received training at Harvard Mind Body Medicine in the field of mindfulness and meditation. She teaches the SMART (Stress Management and Resilience Training) program for women, elderly and youth in the community and the local public libraries. As a speaker at Mind Body Medicine conferences for the elderly, she believes in using research-proven techniques and mindful exercises to prevent and manage dementia and memory loss.
Dr. Kumbkarni is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. An avid reader, she is a featured thinker in the book, Daily Meditations for Visionary Leaders, featuring 30 thinkers from four continents. She is a nature lover and enjoys practicing meditation, photography and music, painting and living life mindfully. Her purpose and vision is to help everyone achieve overall wellness.
