Zika Virus Information

Although there has been substantial media attention about Zika, we want to make sure you have accurate information about the virus, what it may mean for you, and how you and your loved ones can stay healthy.  Zika virus spreads primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito.  People can also get Zika through unprotected sex with a partner infected with Zika. Once infected, Zika can be spread from a pregnant woman to her fetus.

We have a number of recommendations for how you can protect yourself.

Talk to your health care provider if you have any questions.  For additional information, visit www.cdc.gov/zika.
