Preconception & Prenatal Care

Planning for your pregnancy and preconception care, the care you receive before you become pregnant, can benefit both you and your baby.

Good health, proper nutrition and healthy behaviors before you conceive can increase your chances of a health pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Prenatal Care

Prenatal care should begin as early as possible and includes regular health care visits and childbirth education.

As soon as you think you are pregnant, contact your doctor to schedule your first prenatal care appointment.  Women who receive health care regularly during pregnancy have healthier babies, are less likely to deliver prematurely, or to have other serious problems related to pregnancy.
