Nuchal Translucency (NT) is an ultrasound exam that is performed in the first trimester, between 11-14 weeks of pregnancy.  The measurements obtain by nuchal translucency ultrasound screening when combined with certain blood tests can help identify higher risks of Down Syndrome in the fetus, particularly for older women who have higher risks of such pregnancies.
