Dr. Emma Fritz is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Fritz has lived in Florida for most of her life with a few notable excursions. She went to college at The University of Chicago where she studied biology. After school, she traveled as a Peace Corps volunteer. She lived in Benin, West Africa for a little over two years. It was during that time working as a water sanitation specialist that she developed a strong interest in women’s issues. In addition to her formal responsibilities, Dr. Fritz spent a great deal of time working on projects for the improvement of health and financial wellbeing for women.
After returning to the United States, Dr. Fritz pursued a Master’s of Public Health and was very interested in population health and epidemiology. However, she needed more personal interaction with the people she would affect, so the next stop was medical school.
At the University of South Florida, Dr. Fritz developed a passion for obstetrics and gynecology. She finds that the medicine is always interesting, the patients are so dynamic, and that there is no greater thrill than the arrival of a new baby.Since finishing residency at The Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women, she has had the great fortune to practice medicine in Orlando.
Dr. Fritz’s interest in women’s issues and health will probably never wane since she now has two young daughters of her own.Someday, when the days are longer, she will return to some of her previous interests which include reading, tennis, and travel.
