Dr. Richard Dillon is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the AmericanCollege of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Dillon attended MIT majoring in chemical engineering. After completing his engineering studies, he worked as a research engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory before pursuing a medical education. He graduated first in his class from the University of Kentucky, where he was President of Alpha Omega Alpha, medicine's academic honor society. He completed his OB/GYN training at the Medical College of Ohio and began private practice in Tampa in 1985.
During his professional career in Tampa, he was a founding member of Tampa Bay Women's Care, and served as the President and Chief Executive Officer. His vision of an integrated, patient centered group practice providing the highest quality health care to women in central Florida has become a reality. He is continuing in a leadership role to improve patient care and communication by instituting both electronic charting and patient interaction. He is active in physician review activities and serves on Aetna's Credentialing and Performance Review Committee and United Health Care's Medical Advisory Committee.
