Beth Benson MD

Beth Benson, MD is a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the North American Menopause Society where she is recognized as a menopause practitioner.  Dr. Benson is certified as clinical densitometrist for DXA scans.

Dr. Benson has practiced in St. Petersburg since 1982, first with St. Petersburg Women's Clinic then as full time faculty with Bayfront Medical Center OB-GYN residency starting in 1988. She then started OB/GYN Associates with Dr. Jeffrey Carlson. In 2015, Dr. Benson stopped obstetrics and practiced at Diagnostic Clinic in Largo until March 2017.  Dr. Benson served as department chairman at Bayfront Medical Center and St. Petersburg General Hospital where she also served on both medical councils and various hospital committees.  Dr. Benson also held university appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor of OB-GYN at USF and as Adjunct Clinical Professor of OBGYN at Lake Erie College of Medicine.

Dr. Benson received her medical degree in 1978 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine where she was named outstanding Senior Student in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Illinois Hospital in 1982.

Dr. Benson has a special interest in menopause management and adolescent gynecology.  She has been named to the Best Doctors every year since 2001.

Dr. Benson is married with 2 daughters and just welcomed her second grandchild. She has been a diehard Rays fan since 1998 and has never missed an opening day.  She loves traveling to follow the team and visit other stadiums.
