Leigh White, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Leigh White is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist and the American Medical Association. She joined Partners in Women’s Healthcare in 2005.

Dr. White graduated medical school from Wake Forest University-Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2001 and completed her residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women in Orlando. Prior to obtaining her medical degree, she earned her Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) where she was selected to receive a National Institute of Health Immunology Training Grant. She also served as a post-doctoral research associate for the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at UNC.

Dr. White has a special interest in both adolescents and preventive health, and during medical school, she participated in community education programs for prevention of HIV and heart disease. She was also chosen by her peers to serve as the class representative to the Council on Health & Effectiveness and received a merit award for her research on “The Outpatient Management of Early Pregnancy Failure.“
